Women of Construct - Inah, Luna and Jacqueline
Welcome to the final instalment of the Women of Construct series! We've had a fantastic month highlighting the contributions of our female colleagues across the company, and we're excited to wrap up the series by putting the spotlight on the rest of the talented ladies of the Creative team who bring their A-game to every project.
So without further ado, let's meet Inah, Luna and Jacqueline!
How is it to work in an agency?
It's a fast-paced environment with a lot of variety. Every day is different, and new projects come in rapidly. It's an exciting and dynamic workplace, but it requires someone adaptable and hard-working.
How is it to be a part of Construct Digital's transformation journey?
Being part of Construct's transformation journey is a unique and fulfilling experience with a great sense of responsibility. It's not every day that I get to have the chance to be part of shaping the future of an organisation. We are potentially setting a new standard for the industry to move forward during these times of massive change, so in a way, being a part of this transformation makes me feel like a trailblazer.
Another rewarding aspect for me is seeing the direct impact of our efforts on our clients. As we push ourselves to innovate and challenge the status quo, we are constantly discovering new ways to help our clients achieve their goals and overcome the challenges they face. It's incredible to witness this transformation first-hand and know we are making a real impact.
How important is having female representation while we undergo our transformation journey?
A more diverse workforce brings a broader range of perspectives, experiences, and ideas to the table, which can help the agency better understand and serve the needs of its clients and stakeholders.
Females also tend to be more empathetic leaders, which can be invaluable in a transformation journey that involves change and uncertainty. This leadership style can help team members feel supported and valued and encourage collaboration and open communication. It fosters innovation and creativity and promotes a workplace culture of equality, inclusivity, and respect.
What's the role of the creative team in this transformation?
The creative department brings the new transformation vision to life and making it a marker that clients will remember the agency by. To achieve this, we must be able to think outside the box, challenge conventions, and come up with innovative and creative solutions that resonate with clients and our target audiences.
Describe who you are outside of the agency. How do you balance your personal life while being a key team member?
Outside the agency, I'm raising a rambunctious little girl with the most supportive partner. I'm also a giant couch potato and pop culture nerd who sacrifices elusive sleep to catch any and every TV show and film that intrigues me. Being a full-time mom and caregiver is challenging, and I hardly get time to myself. Honestly, I don't know how to balance these two life aspects. Having a routine helps, but every day with a baby is a box of chocolates. You don't know what you're going to get. LOL! Some days are easier than others.
But I'm lucky to be with an agency that allows us to have a clear line between work and home life. I can easily slip into my mom hat when work hours are over and find time to just let my hair down and have me-time.
What are you most looking forward to in your career and personal life?
On a personal level, I am looking forward to witnessing my child grow into a confident, well-adjusted, and healthy individual. I want to be there for every milestone, create lasting memories with my loved ones, and set aside time to pursue my interests and passions. I am more than just a wife, mother, and career woman; I want to nurture all aspects of my life, including my personal growth and development. I've accumulated a pile of unopened books and I'm really looking forward to reading them all soon!
On a professional level, I am optimistic about my career growth and the impact I can make in my field. I want to continue developing my skills and expertise. I am also looking forward to exploring new opportunities for career advancement while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. How is it to work in an agency?
Growing up, I harboured an innate fear of roller coasters – the anticipation, the stomach-churning drops, and the unnerving uncertainty. Little did I know that working in an agency would be strikingly similar to those thrilling rides. The initial ascent feels daunting, but an undeniable thrill courses through me as I embrace the ride. For me, the experience is a perfect blend of fear and exhilaration, transforming advertising from a mere job into a riveting adventure.

Describe who you are outside of the agency. How do you balance your personal life while being a key team member?
Growing up in a family of painters, I have always had an insatiable passion for the arts. And while my career may have taken me down a different path, I am blessed to have found a job that allows me to think and create with an unbridled imagination. I also attend art and music festivals around Asia at least once or twice a year, where I can connect with diverse communities and cultures.
I make a conscious effort to set boundaries around my working hours. And fortunately, I am blessed to work for a company that not only recognises the importance of work-life balance but actively promotes it.
What are you most looking forward to in your career and personal life?
I'm most looking forward to exploring the intersection of technology and creativity - diving headlong into the world of digital innovation and bringing my unique human perspective to the mix. Because when we blend technology and creativity with equal parts of intuition and empathy, we can achieve truly extraordinary things. And that's a journey I can't wait to take.
Regarding my personal life, one aspiration continues to burn brightly in my heart - the dream of seeing my paintings on display in a gallery. It's undeniably a lofty goal, but the very act of creating them genuinely fills me with a sense of fulfilment. How is it to work in an agency?
Fast-paced and exciting, with the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across different departments. We have to work on multiple projects simultaneously and create visually stunning and engaging digital campaigns. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy coordinating trips abroad and exploring new cultures. I am also an avid film and TV enthusiast and foodie. Construct is usually particular about our work-life balance; we would spend that 8 hours wholeheartedly to finish the required task. It's important to manage your time and ask your teammates for help when there's too much on your plate.
What are you most looking forward to in your career and personal life?
In my career, I am excited about advancing my skills and knowledge within the UI/UX field. I am eager to learn and work on challenging projects and continue developing my abilities in creating user-centred designs that are visually appealing and intuitive. With each new project, I am eager to gain a deeper understanding of the latest trends and technologies and apply them creatively to produce exceptional results.
As for my personal life, I'd like to explore different cultures and cuisines through travel. I am particularly interested in discovering Middle Eastern countries' rich and diverse heritage, with their unique spices and flavours. I look forward to immersing myself in these cultures and experiences.
We can't help but feel grateful for the amazing contributions of Jac, Luna, and Inah, who are all integral members of our Creative team. Their unique talents and perspectives have brought countless creative campaigns to life and helped us exceed our clients' expectations.
